Sharon Osbourne Recalls Her Heartbreaking Final Moments With Ozzy: “Hold Me Tight”

Sharon Osbourne has opened up about one of the most emotional moments of her life, sharing the final interaction she remembers having with her husband, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, before his death in July 2025.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Sharon recalled how Ozzy woke during the night and asked her for two kisses. What followed was a quiet, intimate moment that has stayed with her.

“We’d spoken in the night,” Sharon explained. “Ozzy had woken in the night, and he asked me to kiss him twice, and I did.”

She then remembered him asking her to hold him tightly.

“And then he said, ‘Hold me, hold me tight,’ and I did.”

At the time, Sharon had no way of knowing that these moments would become part of her final memories with the man she had shared more than five decades of her life with.

A Morning That Changed Everything

Sharon said she was asleep when the morning brought devastating news. Someone rushed into the room and told her to come downstairs.

“I ran down, and that was it,” she recalled.

Ozzy, who was 76, had suffered a heart attack at the family’s home in Buckinghamshire, England. Emergency responders were called, but they were unable to save him.

His death came just weeks after his emotional farewell performance with Black Sabbath in Birmingham on July 5, 2025. Despite years of serious health challenges, Ozzy had been determined to take the stage one last time.

Sharon said he was incredibly happy after the concert. He had been reading reviews online and seemed surprised that people were praising him rather than criticizing him.

For a performer who had spent decades entertaining audiences around the world, that final show meant far more than another concert. It was a chance to reconnect with fans and celebrate the music that had shaped his life.

“You Never Get Over It”

More than a year after Ozzy’s death, Sharon says the pain of losing him has not disappeared.

“You’ve lost the love of your life, so you don’t just wake up and go, ‘I’m fine now. I’m cured,’” she said.

Her words reflect a reality many grieving spouses understand: losing someone deeply loved is not something that can simply be put behind you.

“You never get over it,” Sharon explained. “But you learn to live with it.”

Rather than pretending the loss no longer hurts, she is learning to live with grief and carry the memories of their life together.

Why Sharon Visits Ozzy’s Grave Every Day

Sharon also revealed that she visits Ozzy’s grave every day. He was buried in the garden of their family home, a private place where she can remember him away from the public attention that followed his life and career.

She explained that she did not want him buried in a public cemetery, where fans and visitors might continually disturb his peace.

From her window, she can see where he rests. She also said she continues to speak to him, keeping a personal connection with the husband she lost.

The decision reflects how important privacy and family were to Sharon during an intensely painful period.

A Love Story That Lasted More Than 50 Years

Sharon and Ozzy first met in 1970 and married in 1982. Their relationship experienced difficult periods, public scrutiny and personal struggles, but they remained closely connected throughout their long life together.

They raised three children together: Aimee, Kelly and Jack. Ozzy also had three children from his first marriage.

For millions of fans, Ozzy will always be remembered as the unmistakable voice of Black Sabbath and one of the most influential figures in heavy metal. But for Sharon, he was also the person she shared her home, family, ordinary routines and private moments with.

Her recollection of those final kisses and his request to be held offers a deeply personal glimpse of their relationship away from the stage.

Ozzy’s final concert showed the world how much music and his fans meant to him. Sharon’s memories reveal another side of his legacy: the love that remained at the center of his life.

Although the world continues to remember the rock icon through his music, Sharon is facing the quieter challenge of learning to live without her husband while keeping his memory close.
